Vision Statement

We envision the Office of Navajo Government Development and the Commission on Navajo Government Development as a progressive and efficient body that nurtures and promulgates wholesome Diné philosophical values on the doctrines of Ké’ and Hózhó. Our core beliefs encourages both individual and community ability and empowerment that fosters creativity, dreams, and imagination in pursuit of attaining a more sustainable government and society while espousing a seven generation principle.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Commission on Navajo Government Development and the Office of Navajo Government Development is to accomplish the Peoples' project of instituting reforms necessary to ensure an accountable, trustworthy, responsible and transparent government.

Goal Statement

  • Goal 1: Improve Community Involvement by empowering local communities through cooperation, coordination by maximizing available resources.
  • Goal 2: Develop and Recommend Government Reform Models.
  • Goal3 : Review and evaluate all aspects of the existing government structure of the Navajo Nation as it relates to chapters as determined by the will of the local communities.
  • Goal 4: Develop a comprehensive Education Program to meet the needs of the people and staff.
  • Goal 5: Develop the Office of Navajo Government Development organization capacity.
  • Goal 6: Staff will implement a department that is professional; knowledgeable that will give them the capacity to accomplish its' mission.
